QA Computing Ltd
How do I pay and is my payment secure?
Secure Online Card Payments
Our Online Store accepts all forms of credit & debit cards including Visa, Mastercard and Maestro.
Why not pay for your order using your ‘Debit Card' and save some more!
Please note that paying for your order using a Visa or MasterCard credit card will incur an additional 2.5% processing surcharge on your order. This will be added as you go through the payment process with SagePay.
So paying by debit card is a great way to save as there are NO processing surcharges on debit cards.
Our customers' data security is of paramount importance and we have taken considerable time in developing systems and selecting partners to ensure that you the customer are secure when purchasing items online. This is why we have selected SagePay as our trusted secure payment partner.
SagePay a division of Sage (UK) Limited, are one of the largest independent payment service providers in the UK. They meet the highest security standards to secure sensitive data. At no point do QA Computing ever see your credit card or security details, and you can be reassured that your details are safe and encrypted by SagePay as they provide secure online credit and debit card payment solutions for thousands of online and mail order businesses across the UK.
Once you have completed your contact, address and delivery details in our secure area, you will then be transferred to SagePay's secure server to enter your credit/debit card details. Your banks will then go through their own security questions to ensure that your details are not being used fraudulently (verified by VISA / MASTERCARD). Once your payment has been made, you will be transferred back to us and we will send you an order confirmation email.
Paying by Paypal
We no longer accept Paypal as a means of paying for items through our online store. Whilst this would appear to go against a number of other online retailers, the reason is simply due to QA's Commitment to you, our customer, in helping to reduce the cost of your computing needs as low as we can.
All payment processing cost QA, Debit Cards are the cheapest at around 40p per payment made, VISA & MasterCard payments cost on average 2.5% of the total purchase price.
This is why, when you pay by Debit Card there are no additional credit card processing fees applied, when you pay by Credit Card a 2.5% card processing fee is applied and we do not have to uplift our selling price to accommodate these fees, the choice is simply yours to accept the respective fees in line with your chosen payment method and everyone has the choice and ability to have no surcharges added.
However, with Paypal payment we are charged 3.4% of the total purchase price, and Paypal do not allow us to recoup or make allowances for this through their payment processing, in fact it is a key part of the agreement which we have to comply with to use them.
So on this basis, to use Paypal we would have to add 3.4% to all our products to cover us should users wish to use this as a payment method. If we were to do this, then this wouldn't be fair to customers who wish to pay by Debit Card as they would have been able to buy from us without incurring the additional 3.4% uplift.
Furthermore, we wouldn't be as successful in reducing the cost of your computing needs, so for this reason, regrettably we no longer accept Paypal as a means of payments and we would hope that you our customers will understand from the above the reasons why.
At the point that we start to capture personal details on our website, you will be taken to a secure area which ensures that the information you enter is encrypted and secure.
This secure area then continues as you pass between our payment providers to ensure that at all times the information you enter continues to be encrypted and secure.
We and our payment providers use 128-bit SSL certificates and any information passed between us uses MD5 hashing to prevent tampering and ensures that the data sent is the same as that received.
We take our responsibilities and obligations to data protection equally as seriously as we do security, as we handle personal information about individuals, we have a number of legal obligations to ensure that we protect that information under the Data Protection Act 1998.
